Pankhu Top is located in Bageshwar district of Uttrakhand. It is also known as Pakhwa Bugyal.The name Pakhuwa refers to the roof, in the local language the roof of the house is uttered. The maximum height of this trek is at 3260. Mtr. Kautali is 4 km ahead of Pankhu Top, from where you connect the route on Kafni Glacier Trek route to Khatti.Local shepherds also live with their sheep, goats in this area. From here, you will see the glaciers and Himalayan peaks nearby and quite clear. The path to reach the summit is a bit difficult.Because this trek came into discussion only a few years ago. Due to lack of developed trek route, you may get confused and lose the way. Most of the distance of this trek you will pass through the path of the forest.Bajlingdhar is the most convenient and safe place for a night's rest on this trek. Which is 3 Km from Vinayak Dhar. The trekking journey will start from the village. Where you can see old hill houses and other natural beauty.From the view point of Pankhu Top you can see the Sunderdhunga Maiktoli range quite clear and near. During this trip you will be able to explore the Wildlife and Floral Beauty in Lower Himalaya well.You will see a variety of flowers and animals, which can only be seen in the Himalayan range. Jhuni Village is the nearest village to Pankhu Top. Sahastradhara or Sarmool is located at a distance of 5 Km from here. Which is also the source of the river Saryu. That is why this valley is known as Saryu Valley. Jhuni to Sarmul trek is also one of the important stops of this journey.

ITINERARY EX. KATHGODAM

Day 1: - Kathgodam To Patiyasar (230 Km. Drive)

Early Morning 6 AM Pick Up At Kathgodam Railway Station , On  Arrival you will be welcomed by our trek leader and other crew members. In the welcome drink, you will be served tea, coffee or cold drink as you wish. Night rest and dinner will be at Homestay. You will get to eat excellent mountain dishes at dinner.

Day 2 - Patiyasar To Jhuni Village (7 Km Trekking)
In The Morning After Breakfast We Will Start Our Journey Towards Bhadratunga . Today we will first trek till 2 KM Bhadratunga, then trek from there to 5 Km Jhuni village. We will reach Jhuni at lunch time. Lunch, Dinner and Stay will be available at Homestay.

Day 3 - Jhuni Village To Sarmul To Jhuni Village (10 KM Trekking)
Today after breakfast we will go to Sarmool along with packed lunch. Sarmool, which is also the source of the river Saryu, is quite famous for its religious beliefs. Sarmool is about 5 Km walking distance from Jhuni village. You can use packed lunch as you wish. We Need To Come Back To Homestay Before Sunset .

Day 4 - Jhuni Village To Bajlingdhar (5 km Trekking)
After breakfast in the morning, you will learn about the culture of the village of Jhuni.  After talking and meeting local people, we will have lunch in the village itself and then start further trekking to Bajlingdhar.  After walking about 5 Km we will reach Bajlingdhar.  Some people of our team will reach there in advance and set a tent for rest of the night and you will be served a welcome drink when you arrive.  Night rest and dinner are available at Campsite .

From the Bajlingdhar you will see all the Glaciers, Bugyal, and Mountain Peak in the Sunderdhunga Valley range quite clearly. The bird's eye view of Maiktoli will fascinate you. From here you will get quite panoramic views at sunrise and sunset. The place also has some local shepherds and there is a temple built by them nearby.

Day 5 - Bajlingdhar To Pankhu Top To Bajlingdhar ( 10 Km. Trekking )
After breakfast in the morning and watching the sunrise. we will start trekking to Pankhu Top. We will carry a pack lunch together which can be used at our convenience. After the 5 Km journey, we will reach Pankhu Top. From Pankhu Top you will get to see amazing views of the surrounding villages as well as the Himalayas. We Need To Come Back Before sunset At Our Campsite in Bajlingdhar. 

Day 6 - Bajlingdhar To Khati Village (7 Km. Down Trekking)
This morning we will start the journey for the return, after breakfast in the morning, after walking around a little, we will leave for the village.  The distance from Bajlingdhar to Khati village is about 7 Km, which takes about 4-5 hours for a common traveler.  We Can carry our lunch together or try to reach Khati at lunch time. Night Stay and dinner will be in Homestay. 

Day 7 - Khati To Kharkiya (4 Km Trekking) To Kathgodam Departure .
Today is the end of the journey, after having breakfast in the morning our team will drop you to Kharkiya .  Will Reach Kathgodam Around 5 PM .
